It is hard to be more involved in high school than Amanda Grumbles was in the late 1990’s. She played basketball for four years, competed in volleyball, track & field and was a member of the National Honor Society. Her true passion, however, was music, specifically band. She was a member of the Lisle Band for four years, which included three years playing in the Musical Pit Band and four years as a member of the Lisle Jazz Band. Her success was such that she participated in the All-District Band and All-State band her senior year. She was a member of the Interstate 8 Conference Honor Band her junior & senior year and was the featured soloist her senior year. Amanda also participated in the highly prestigious Chicago Youth Symphony Orchestra and Chamber Music Program. She went on to major in French Horn Performance at Indiana University and obtained her Masters Degree in Performance from DePaul University in Chicago.
